Today is the 30th anniversary of National Coming Out Day.

In honor of this day, Pat Walker Health Center's Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) department is pleased to host international transgender activist and author, Ryan Sallans, for a discussion on transitioning, LGBTQ inclusion, and campus inclusion.

Since 2005, Sallans has been sharing his personal story on college campuses, while also exploring ways to increase access to health care and inclusion for transgender communities.

During his captivating, two-hour presentation, Sallans will discuss his transition from female to male in his widely-popular and inspiring presentation, FTM: Scouting the Unknown.

Sallans will speak at 6 p.m. in the Reynolds Center Auditorium. A special meet-and-greet reception and book signing will take place in the Reynolds Center Atrium. Free refreshments will be provided.

The event is free and open to all University of Arkansas students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community.

For questions about the presentation or reception, contact Kendra Glasper, LCSW, CAPS Outreach Coordinator.

For more information on Sallans, visit ryansallans.com or health.uark.edu.
