Libraries Celebrate Archives Month With Author Brian Walter
Graphic Design by Ariel Romero

Join the University Libraries Special Collections department for an Archives Month event at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in the Special Collections Reading Room. University of Arkansas Press author Brian Walter will speak on his forthcoming book, The Guestroom Novelist. This event is free and open to the public.

The subject of the book is the writings of Arkansas native, U of A alumnus and former professor of 22 years, Donald Harington. The U of A Press will be on hand selling books, and a tour of Special Collections will follow Walter's presentation. Refreshments will be served.

"As the archive for the Donald Harington Papers, we welcome the opportunity to learn from scholars who have used the collections as part of their research," said Lori Birrell, head of Special Collections.

Since 2006, American Archives Month has been celebrated in October. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of preserving materials and making them accessible to researchers.
