Study Abroad in Panama
Register now for the summer 2019 Walton College faculty-led International Business Seminar in Panama study abroad program.
The trip, which lasts from May 19, 2019, to June 8, 2019, will address issues relating to global finance and supply chain management.
"One of fastest growing economies of Latin America, Panama is much more than the canal: it has made an outstanding job leveraging the canal to become the financial center and corporate hub of Central America," said Sergio Santamaria, faculty trip leader. "Given my Latin roots, I enjoy tremendously every trip to Panama. It is a huge honor to be leading the 2019 study abroad program in Panama as I am convinced that the students will also love its fascinating culture, its rich history and its delicious food."
Corporate visits on Panama include Super 99, Banco National of Panama, Nestle, Mazanillo International Terminal, Proctor and Gamble, the Panama Canal Railway, and the Panama Canal. Excursions on this program consist of a tour of Panama City; a visit to the Biodiversity Museum; and weekend trips to Isla Grande and La Playa Venao.
"If you are a student wanting to experience a unique culture and get first hand business experience at the same time, the Panama study abroad is perfect for you," said Carson Oldham, an economics and supply chain management double major. "While in country, the Panamanian people and culture will amaze you and surprise you with its diversity. When working on the internship project you do or visiting the business, you are able to practice your international business savvy and gain firsthand experience that those who don't go on this study abroad cannot access. Overall, if you're a self-motivated student who's interested in learning about international business in a variety of different specific disciplines, you should come to Panama!"
This program welcomes students from all majors.
