Video, Information Session Highlight New Venture Development Journey

A new short video chronicles the experience of two interdisciplinary student teams who participated in the New Venture Development program in 2017-18.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas New Venture Development program is featured in a new short film that chronicles the experience two interdisciplinary graduate student teams across the 2017-2018 academic year. One of the teams, Lapovations, became the most successful student startup team in U of A history, winning seven national competitions and more than $305,000 in cash and investment prizes. The other, UChooze Lunchbox, competed with Lapovations in the elite Rice University Business Plan Competition.
The two-semester New Venture Development sequence is the cornerstone of the Sam M. Walton College of Business Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship, a program intended for graduate students from any discipline who are interested in learning about the formation of high-growth, knowledge-based businesses.
An information session about the program will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. this Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Brewer Family Entrepreneurship Hub. Register at the Info Session and Networking event page.
