Xinya Liang, a faculty member in the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources and Communication Disorders, was honored Friday by her alma mater, Florida State University.

Xinya Liang, an assistant professor in educational statistics and research methods, is one of 22 Florida State alumni under age 35 named to the 2018 Notable Noles, "in recognition of their significant contributions to their professions, communities or alma mater."

They were to be formally presented at a dinner Friday, Nov. 16, in Tallahassee.

Liang's research focuses on structural equation model and Bayesian data analysis. Last year, she published an article in the journal Structural Equation Modeling: A Multidisciplinary Journal. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment.

Liang currently provides methodological expertise on two projects for state agencies, an analysis of correction education for the Arkansas Department of Correction and a statewide needs assessment for Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.

Liang earned a doctorate at Florida State University and her undergraduate degree at Zhejiang Gongshang University in China.

"Notable Noles" is a reference to the informal shorthand for Seminoles, the Native American tribe affiliated with Florida State.
