Professional Development: Lowdown on Search Committees to Be Revealed

One part of professional development in the academic arena is learning how applicants to research projects and employment are selected — then of course how to improve their chances of being picked.

This will be addressed at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in the Professional Development Series of the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation. The session, "Behind the Scenes of the Search Committee," will last an hour and be held in HPER 311.

Both faculty and students are invited. Refreshments will be served.

The program will comprise a question-and-answer session featuring both student and faculty search-committee members. They vow to reveal the hidden machinations of the applicant selection process.
