The National Lab for the Study of the College President has just published its second issue of the Journal of Research on the College President.

The University of Arkansas-based lab, now in its second year, publishes the journal as a way to share both research and ideas for best practices. The fall 2018 edition of the journal has a section devoted to "What College Presidents Should Know," including articles on faculty expectations, adult students and student affairs.

Research in this volume includes two articles on issues facing community college presidents.

"We continue to receive wonderful feedback on the journal," said professor G. David Gearhart, U of A chancellor emeritus who also directs the national lab. "We continue to receive interest in our work, and this annual online journal provides a great way to share some innovative thinking and important research results with a wide audience."

Earlier this fall the lab hosted Southern Illinois University Chancellor Emeritus John S. Jackson on campus to deliver its inaugural lecture. A second lecture is planned for spring 2019. Its date and speaker have not yet been confirmed.

Faculty affiliated with the national lab will be sharing their research at two upcoming conferences, including the Eastern Educational Research Association and the Council for the Study of Community Colleges.

The national lab is a part of the Higher Education Program of the College of Education and Health Professions.
