Submit Phone Requirements for the VoIP Phone Project

The University of Arkansas is modernizing communication on campus with a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solution. During the spring 2019 semester, analog desk phones will be replaced with new VoIP-compatible phones.

In order to ensure a successful switch to VoIP, it is vitally important to collect accurate information about each phone currently in use on campus by completing a 2-minute survey for your phone. If you are responsible for multiple phones or lines, please complete additional surveys for each phone number.

IT directors within the colleges and divisions have been hard at work collecting this information. If you have already been contacted regarding this, you do not need to submit your phone information again. If you have not, please complete the 2-minute survey before Friday, Jan. 11.

Information Technology Services encourage you to attend our next town hall event at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, in the Arkansas Union room 504. The VoIP project team will present an overview of the project and answer your questions.

Additional phone demonstrations are scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Tech Spot in the Arkansas Union on the following dates:

  • Thursday, January 10
  • Friday, January 18
  • Wednesday, January 23
  • Tuesday, January 29

Visit the VoIP project website to learn more.
