Town Hall Discussions on Proposed Changes to Policy on Appointment, Promotion and Tenure
The Faculty Senate Leadership and the Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee will hold two town hall meetings to discuss proposed changes to Academic Policy 1405.11. This policy addresses several topics important to campus faculty members including "evaluative criteria, procedures and general standards for initial appointments, successive appointments, annual and post-tenure review, promotion and tenure."
Changes are being proposed to both update the policy as well as to realign the policy to the corresponding Board of Trustees policy 405.1, to which changes were made last March. The meetings will be held starting at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 22, and at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25. Both sessions will be held in Mullins Library room 104.
All faculty are invited and encouraged to attend these meetings. Proposed changes, as well as a summary of these changes, may be accessed by visiting the Faculty Senate webpage and viewing either the agenda or the minutes from the Jan. 16 Faculty Senate meeting.
