Data Center Power Outage to Impact Campus Systems on Feb. 17

A complete power outage to the campus Data Center, located in the Administrative Services Building, is tentatively scheduled for the early morning of Sunday, Feb. 17. This is necessary to repair a core component of the buildings power system. IT Services is working with service owners to establish a specific time to minimize impact to campus.

Systems that will be unavailable during the building repair process include, but are not limited to: BASIS/webBASIS, UAConnect and Blackboard Transact (Razorbucks), Perceptive Content/Image Now, and Nebula. To minimize impact, IT Services will migrate all possible services in advance. A complete list of impacted services will be published on the IT Status Monitor on Friday, Feb. 15.

Cloud-based services such as email, Box, Blackboard Learn and campus websites will not be affected.

Additionally, there will be an outage of wired and wireless Internet service for all buildings on the ADSB network segment including ADSB, Pomfret Hall, Uptown East and West, ENRC. View the complete list of impacted buildings.

This outage is part of required building maintenance and repairs for the power system in ADSB, there are no issues with the current data center. All systems are expected to return to full service after the power outage.

An all-clear message will be provided once repairs are completed and systems verified. Service impact updates will be shared on the IT Status Monitor page and at help.uark.edu.
