Local Nonprofits Offer Information Session Today

The Volunteer Action Center is hosting its first Find Your Impact session of 2019 at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the University of Arkansas Wellness Center.

The monthly panel discussion brings together VAC partner agencies and students to network and discover volunteer opportunities both on and off campus. Students will learn about each organization's mission, the services they provide and how they can get involved through.

This month's impact theme is "children and youth services," and will include representatives from Big Brothers Big Sisters of NWA, YouthBridge, the Yvonne Richardson Center and the VAC's Passionate About Learning (P.A.L.) and Dream B.I.G. (Believing in Girls) programs. These organizations all work with kids through education or mentorship and offer short-term and longer volunteer opportunities for university students.

The panel discussion starts at 5 p.m. in the Wellness Center on Garland Avenue with snacks provided. Visit the VAC's GivePulse page to sign up.
