2018 Outstanding Staff Team Award Winners Announced

The University of Arkansas Staff Senate is pleased to announce the office staff of the newly merged Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology as the 2018 Outstanding Staff Team Award recipients.

Beginning in 2018, the separate departments of entomology and plant pathology began sharing an interim head. Office staff of both departments agreed that reorganization of their duties between the two distinct departments was necessary to eliminate procedural and cost duplication, improve overall functionality between them and faculty and students, and improve effectiveness of their shared department head's time.  Their department head, Terry Kirkpatrick, agreed and they moved forward with changes.

Activities that began as streamlining office personnel and departmental procedures between two distinct departments with the same head quickly transitioned into preliminary activities for a planned merger of both departments into one. This merger was decided by upper administration and was determined to be in the best interest of the two programs and their mission to the citizens of Arkansas and beyond.

The team members are: Cindy Morley, Heather Jorgensen, Chad Mills, Doris Smith and Kim Keeney.

The Outstanding Staff Team will be recognized at the Staff Senate meeting at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 at the Staff Senate Awards Celebration. The team will receive a plaque and a cash award of $2,500. Please join the Staff Senate in congratulating this amazing team!
