Throughout the month of February, nearly 3,000 new Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones have been delivered on campus. In an effort to provide continued support for campus phone users, VoIP phones and headsets will be on display throughout the spring semester at the Computer Store inside the U of A Bookstore on Garland Avenue.

On Wednesday, Feb. 28, IT Services will partner with the Computer Store for another VoIP phone demonstration between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to stop by during this time to ask questions about the new VoIP system, to review features of the new phones and view additional headset options. Several headset options are available for purchase the U of A Bookstore. Headsets can be used with all desk phones and softphone applications.

Faculty and staff who visit Wednesday's VoIP demonstration can enter to win a Jabra Evolve headset, courtesy of the Bookstore.

"The Computer Store is now equipped to help faculty and staff with any questions they might have about our new VoIP solution," Daniel Traynham, Computer Store manager said. "By adding a permanent phone bar, we hope to provide greater support for phone users on campus as they become familiar with this new technology."

The Computer Store is currently open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
