Discover Laos During This Month's Holcombe Global Series

Enjoy a presentation by a visiting architecture student from Laos, Nout Keomany Phengmeuang. The presentation starts at 8 p.m. today in Holcombe Hall's living room.

"I really want to talk about the beautiful traditions people keep and pass on to younger generations and the natural resources that collaborate with a person's lifestyle," Phengmeuang said. "I want to tell where Laos is, how Laotians live over there, and some general information about Laos such as the Lao language, Lao food, Lao costume, Lao dance and Lao rich nature."

Laos is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia. It has a population of over 7 million people with 49 recognized ethnic groups. 

"Laos is a place where you can find peace, modesty, minimal lifestyle and adventurous outdoor activities," Phengmeuang said.

This event is open to all within the university community. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and engage with the presenters after the presentation. Samples of food will follow along with an opportunity to take photos.

Global Series is an on-going program with past spring programs including Panama and Turkey.

About the Holcombe Global Series.
