Call for Proposals for 'Are We HIP and Well Enough?' Conference
Over 200 faculty, staff and graduate assistants gathered for the July 2018 "Are We HIP Enough?" Retreat. Sign up for the 2019 event will open soon.
The HIP & Wellness Conference is seeking proposals for 30- to 45-minute presentations given as break-out sessions by faculty, staff and graduate assistants that align with the conference goals at the campuswide HIP & Wellness Conference. The event will take place on July 31 in the University of Arkansas Reynolds Center from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Conference Goals include: highlighting High-Impact Educational Practices (HIPs) implemented on our campus, highlighting activities concerning wellness and well-being of campus students, faculty and/or staff, exploring the creation of a culture of wellness that promotes HIPs and promoting conversations among faculty and staff centered on students and student success programs and projects.
We are seeking a variety of presentation types including lectures, round table discussions, panel discussions, posters, etc. The proposal submission deadline is April 22.
High-Impact Educational Practices: According to AACU, research indicates these practices promote success especially for underserved students. These include: First-Year Experiences, Common Intellectual Experiences, Learning Communities, Writing-Intensive Courses, Collaborative Assignments and Projects, Undergraduate Research Diversity/Global Learning, ePortfolios, Service Learning, Community-Based Learning, Internships, Capstone Courses and Projects.
