FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Poultry Judging team won the high team overall category at the 72nd USPOULTRY Foundation Ted Cameron National Poultry Judging Contest, held April 3-5 in Baton Rouge on the Louisiana State University campus.

The contest works to increase student enrollment in poultry science. Teams from colleges and universities across the nation compete with one another in three categories: production judging, breed selection and market products judging. The competition allows students the opportunity to demonstrate how well they have mastered the U.S. Department of Agriculture rules and regulations governing the grading of eggs and poultry carcasses.

In addition to winning first place for the overall team, University of Arkansas team member Will Bryles received 1st Overall Individual, Dakota Walker received 2nd Overall Individual, and Katie Bugenhagen received 5th Overall Individual. Team member Kristen Martin placed in the top 15. The entire team placed 1st in Breed Selection, 2nd in Market Products and 3rd in Production of Poultry Products.

Members of the University of Arkansas team were Will Bryles; Dakota Walker; Kristen Martin and Katie Bugenhagen; Stephanie Bennett, alternate; Elsbeth Hamilton, alternate; Dennis Mason, coach; and Mackenzie Pippin, assistant coach.
