Links to Presentations by Candidates for Dean of Libraries Now Available

Candidates for the position of dean of University Libraries visited the University of Arkansas campus April 18, 22 and 24 to meet with faculty, staff and administrators and gave public presentations on the topic "Challenges and Opportunities for the Contemporary University Library."
All public presentations and receptions were held in Vol Walker Hall.

"Energetically and with commitment, the university search committee, representing the breadth of the Libraries and the university, has worked for the last eight months to identify ultimately three candidates for the important position of dean of Libraries," said Peter MacKeith, dean of the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design and chair of the search committee. "The process has been educational for all engaged, and has understood the central role of the University Libraries in the life of the university, and the compelling character of the position at this time."

The first candidate to present was John Weaver, dean of Library Services and Educational Technology at Abilene Christian University. A recording of Weaver's presentation is available online, as is a candidate evaluation form.

The second candidate to present was Richard Saunders, academic librarian and former dean of Library Services at Southern Utah University. A recording of Saunders' presentation is available online, as is a candidate evaluation form.

The final candidate to present was Dennis Clark, associate university librarian for research, learning, and spaces at the University of Virginia. A recording of Clark's presentation is available online, as is a candidate evaluation form.

Links to each candidate's recorded presentation and evaluation form are unique, and a UARK login is required to view the recordings.

Information about the position and search is available on the Libraries' website.
