Seventh WebFirst Conference, Set for July 11, Emphasizes Productivity, Design, Collaboration

Registration is open for the seventh annual WebFirst Conference, set for Thursday, July 11, a day-long series of programs on digital communications for University of Arkansas faculty, staff and students as well as the public.

This year the conference is free to all. Registration is required at the program website. Enrollment is limited; the registration deadline is July 5.
WebFirst participants from campus find the 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. event an opportunity to learn about the latest features available, while community members can learn how best to work with campus staff on electronic matters as well as gain communications insight for their businesses or other endeavors.

A complimentary continental style breakfast, hosted by CampusPress, will be available 8-8:50 a.m. Lunch can be on one's own, but a box lunch for $10 — from Green Submarine — can be purchased during online registration.

Location for the conference again is the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, 145 N. Buchanan Ave. in Fayetteville. Public parking is available at the nearby Harmon Avenue Parking Garage for $1.75 an hour.

The morning will feature a dozen seminars among four sequences: Content Organizers, Digital Developers, Web Managers and Communicators.

Among the speakers are web developer Ali Williams of Red Rooster Design, OmniUpdate sales director Jeremy Rex, U of A strategic communications director Amy Schlesing, Arkansas Tech senior web developer Michael Stoker, and U of A Director of Digital Strategy Chris Nixon.

Participants can select from among four 90-minute workshops in the afternoon: the campus OmniUpdate website platform, general website design planning, social media marketing and best practices for Microsoft Office 365. Each will be moderated by leading U of A technical specialists
