University of Arkansas Army ROTC's newest second lieutenants cut the cake with an Army saber at their reception last Friday.

The University of Arkansas Army ROTC's Razorback Battalion is a host school for the Army ROTC programs at the University of Arkansas in Fort Smith, John Brown University, NorthWest Arkansas Community College and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  Between all schools, there were 16 new second lieutenants commissioned into the U.S. Army over the last couple of weeks. The following lists their names, degrees earned, assessions, and branches:

From John Brown University, commissioned on Friday, May 3:

  • Matthew Adair earned a degree in biology/pre-med. He was granted an educational delay, so that he can attend medical school at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Smith. He plans to eventually serve in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. For now, he has assessed into the Army Reserves.
  • Jacob Benjamin earned a degree in history. He has assessed into the active duty Army and has branched into the Ordnance Corps.

From Northeastern State University, commissioned on Thursday, May 9:

  • Alyson Hohrman earned a degree in Homeland Security. She has assessed into the active duty Army and has branched into the Quartermaster Corps.

From the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, commissioned on Thursday, May 9:

  • Jonathan Jones earned a degree in business administration. He has assessed into the Arkansas National Guard and branched Field Artillery.
  • Zachary Ray earned a degree in mathematics. He has assessed into the Arkansas National Guard and branched into the Signal Corps.

From the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, commissioned on Friday, May 10:

  • Jacob Adel earned a degree in finance. He has assessed into the active duty Army and branched into the Armor Corps.
  • Cesar Barrientos earned a degree in criminal justice. He has assessed into the Arkansas National Guard and branched Field Artillery.
  • Jackson Berg earned a degree in agricultural business. He has assessed into the Arkansas National Guard and branched Field Artillery.
  • Austin Hall earned a degree in political science. He has assessed into the Arkansas National Guard and branched Field Artillery.
  • Ryan Hedges earned a degree in criminal justice. He has assessed into Army Reserves and branched into the Military Intelligence Corps.
  • Paul Lee earned a degree in organizational leadership. He has been granted an educational delay, so that he can attend seminary and branch into the Chaplain Corps, Christian faith. For now, he has assessed into the Army Reserves.
  • Jacob Self earned a degree in international studies. He has assessed into the Texas National Guard and branched into the Aviation Corps.
  • Andrew Stengel earned a degree in civil engineering. He has assessed into the Arkansas National Guard and branched Field Artillery.
  • Michael Wilde earned a degree in criminal justice. He has assessed into the Active Duty Army and branched into the Quartermaster Corps.
  • Noah Wilson earned a degree in psychology.  He has assessed into the Colorado National Guard and branched into the Military Police Corps.
  • Carson Wyatt earned a degree in political science-legal studies. He has assessed into the active duty Army and branched into the Military Intelligence Corps with a branch detail of Field Artillery. He plans to attend law school in the future.

The cadre of all the schools of the Razorback Battalion are very proud of their newest second lieutenants.  

Each of the new second lieutenants obtained some sort of scholarship through our program.
