Civil Engineering's Williams Honored by American Public Works Association

A civil engineering faculty member has been honored by the Arkansas chapter of the American Public Works Association for her career-long contributions to the field of public works.
Stacy Goad Williams, research associate professor and director of the Center for Training Transportation Professionals, was named Professional of the Year by the Arkansas Chapter of the association.
The focus of the award is to inspire dedication and excellence in public service by recognizing individuals who have demonstrated those qualities in their career service to the public works profession.
Williams was recognized for her role as an expert in the field of public works, and for the guidance she has provided to infrastructure professionals in the public and private sectors. She has contributed to the Arkansas Technology Transfer Program to develop and teach courses that aid local agencies in understanding and implementing new technologies and best practices to improve the work quality throughout Arkansas.
"Stacy has been gracious to APWA Arkansas with her willingness to share her time and knowledge with our chapter," said Ronny Loe, assistant director of public works for the City of Little Rock. "Stacy demonstrates a great commitment to improving the infrastructure for our state. Promoting, teaching, and helping others, Stacy is moving public works forward."
Williams said she was humbled to receive the award.
"It is a huge honor to be selected for this award," she said. "The APWA has been so gracious to allow me to work with them over the last few years. Their members are active, engaged, and have truly invested in moving forward to make a difference in Arkansas's cities and counties."
