Lt. Col. Brian W. Capps

Lt. Col. Marc E. Wolfe, Commander and Professor of Aerospace studies for the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 030, University of Arkansas, changed command with the new Commander, Lt. Col. Brian W. Capps on July 6.

Wolfe joined the U of A as Commander of Detachment 030 in May, 2016. Wolfe's brilliant and diverse military career included holding key positions as a Missile Operations Evaluator & Instructor, Space Orbital Analyst, Joint Space Operations Center Mission Commander, and Operations Officer for the 7th Space Warning Squadron. 

 After three years of service to the U of A and more than 20 years of service in the United States Air Force, Wolfe is set to retire from active duty. During Wolfe's tenure, he was responsible for leading, recruiting, training, counseling, and evaluating highly qualified cadets as prospective Air Force officers. Wolfe's servant leadership produced many top graduates and national award winners, and included winning the 2017 Air Force ROTC Medium Detachment of the Year Award.

Currently in command of Detachment 030, Capps comes with over 19 years of service in the United States Air Force. His operational experience includes tours as a Minuteman III missile combat crew member, a space launch control officer, and Joint Space Operations Center Mission Commander. Before coming to the U of A, Capps served as a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Supreme Allied Command Transformation, where he worked as a defense planner identifying future capability requirements for the Alliance.
