Several Campus Lots Must Be Vacated Friday Evening

Lot 99 is open to any UA parking permit holder any time. It is a good place to park for those who need to move during major athletic events.

In preparation for the opening Razorback football game of the season, there are many parking lots on the University of Arkansas campus that must be cleared before midnight on Friday night.

Transit and Parking always reminds permit holders about major athletic events by sending emails and by using social media.

But because this is the first big athletic event of the school year, and because there are thousands of newcomers on campus, Transit and Parking is providing info via Arkansas Newswire as well.

The email reminder states: "All vehicles parked in Razorback Foundation priority parking lots must be moved by 11:59 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, for the Portland State vs. Arkansas football game. These lots are designated by red and white signs at the entrance."

For the most part, this only affects students who have a green parking permit, but other lots are cleared as well.

Students with a red resident reserved permit do not have to relocate.

Anyone with a University of Arkansas parking permit who needs to move his or her vehicle may use remote Lot 99, which is on Beechwood Avenue, south of the main campus.

University parking permits have access to Lot 99 any time. There is no additional charge to park there.

You may locate Lot 99 by looking at the parking map of campus.

Individuals who do not move vehicles out of the Razorback Foundation priority parking lots will have their vehicle towed to Lot 99. The owner will be responsible for expenses associated with the citation and the relocating.

Transit and Parking recommends that individuals move their vehicles to avoid those expenses.
