Symposium on the U.S. and China Trade War
The ongoing trade war between the United States and China threatens to exert downward pressure on the economies of both countries and upend the global trading order. How does domestic politics in both the U.S. and China shape the dynamics of the negotiations? How is the trade war viewed by the American and Chinese public? What role do American multinational corporations play in the trade dispute?
A symposium on the trade war will bring together a group of scholars to examine these and other important questions affecting the trade and investment relations between the world's two largest economies. It will take place between 9 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in Gearhart Hall Room 258 and is open and free to the public.
The symposium is sponsored by the Asian Studies Program in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences.
