Project One to Implement Workday

At the beginning of the fall semester, the University of Arkansas campus is now less than one year away from the implementation of Workday as part of Project One.

Project One is an initiative of the University of Arkansas System to unify financial and human resource systems at 21 institutions across the state. On the Fayetteville campus, Workday will replace BASIS, PeopleAdmin and RazorBuy. During the second phase of Project One, Workday will also replace UAConnect.

Workday is a cloud-based system that provides a modern user experience optimized for mobile. Additional benefits include

  • Enhanced self-service
  • Elimination of manual and paper processes
  • Improved reporting, transparency, and visibility

Project One officially kicked off in July of 2018. Since then, over 120 finance and human resource experts from the U of A have worked alongside the system's Project One team to design business processes and review how they will function in Workday.

Starting this month, the project team will begin their second review of actual BASIS data in Workday to confirm processes and configuration. The team expects to be able to increase communication after this activity completes in late October.

Additional information on the project is available on the Project One website. An Introduction to Workday video is also available from the Project One Team.
