Workshops Set to Raise Awareness About Disabilities in the Workplace
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Office of Equal Opportunity and Compliance will host workshops in October to raise awareness about the accommodations available in the workplace. These sessions are intended for U of A staff, faculty and students to raise awareness as well as provide tools and resources pertaining to individuals with disabilities in the workplace.

- 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 — Managing and Supporting Employees with Psychiatric Disabilities — This program will be live-streamed. Information about logging into the session will be provided to registrants the day prior to the session. Presenters: Diego Demaya, director of ADA Technical Assistance for the Southwest ADA Center.
- 9-10:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 — Assistive Technology and Accommodations in the Workplace — The University House, 1002 West Maple Street. Presenters: Brad Marsh, rehab program coordinator and Nathan Winter, associate commissioner of access and accommodations with Arkansas Rehabilitation Services.
- 1-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 — The Fundamentals of Web Accessibility — This program will be livestreamed. Information about logging into the session will be provided to registrants the day prior to the session. Presenter: Joe Dolson from the WordPress accessibility team.
