Arkansas Union to Host Regional ACUI Conference

The Arkansas Union is proud to announce that it is serving as host to the 2019 Region II Conference of the Association of College Unions International. The ACUI is a professional association for college union facilities, focusing on inclusive environments, student programming, and facility mangement.

The conference, to be held Oct. 25-27 in the Arkansas Union, will bring together staff and students from nearby states to learn and have a good time, according to Rob Stagni, director of the Arkansas Union.

"ACUI is the premiere professional organization for college unions, and the Arkansas Union is proud to serve as host institution for our colleagues and friends," Stagni said. "We know that they are excited to join us here in Fayetteville, and we are eager to show off what this campus has to offer."

Participants in the conference will be treated to tours of campus, a host of educational sessions, and impactful keynotes covering this year's theme, "Reflecting Forward."

"As a graduate student, attending ACUI events has helped me improve my professional skills and meet new people," said Sasha Shkorupeieva, a graduate assistant for the Arkansas Union. "Participating at conference has also expanded my view of what opportunities are available to me as I get ready to graduate."

Regular-rate registration for the ACUI conference remains open through Thursday, Oct. 3. Any student or staff member at the University of Arkansas can register at the "Member Rate" since the Arkansas Union pays for a campus membership. Registration includes attendance at all sessions, meals, a conference T-shirt, and other activities.
