Online Services Unavailable During Facilities Maintenance Oct. 6
University online services will be unavailable during an upgrade to the emergency generator transfer switch in the Administrative Services Building (ADSB) starting Sunday, Oct. 6. The project is scheduled over the course of eight days and will include two 18-hour service outages.
In case of rain, this maintenance could be rescheduled for Sunday, Oct. 13. Updated information will be provided on the IT Status Monitor page.
Starting at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, IT Services will begin shutting down Data Center systems before the building loses power at 6 a.m. After power is brought back up at 6 p.m., systems will begin to be brought back online. Services are expected to be restored between 10 p.m. and midnight. Some departmental applications could take longer to be fully restored.
Throughout the outage, most services will remain online, however, the following will be unavailable:

- Campus Directory
- Data Warehouse
- Exchange Relay
- High-Performance Computing Center

- MyLaw
- Nebula

Email, Blackboard, VoIP phone services, file storage, VDI labs, Azure AD and other cloud services will remain available during the outage. Campus internet and VPN will also be unaffected. Service impact updates will be shared on the IT Status Monitor page.
As work is performed over the following week to prepare the new generator switch, ADSB will rely solely on utility power without an emergency backup. If an unexpected power outage were to occur due to storms or other causes, systems would be impacted. The next power outage is scheduled at 6 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. In case of weather delays, it could be rescheduled for Oct. 20.
