Sustainable Transportation 'Pecha Kucha' Is First in a Series
An oversized U of A street has now been improved to accommodate pedestrians and bicycles.
This fall, the University of Arkansas Office for Sustainability is hosting a Lunch and Learn series. Each session will have three Pecha Kucha-styled presentations that provide different perspectives on a topic. Complimentary lunch will be provided for those who register here. Space is limited.
Their first session will be at 1:30 today, Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Vol Walker Sky Terrace Conference Room, 420, and will focus on active transportation, U of A transportation systems and the VeoRide bike share. Hear perspectives from Dane Eifling, the bike and pedestrian coordinator for the U of A and the city of Fayetteville; Jim Coffman, an assistant professor of landscape architecture; and Aylin Pulido, the mobility coordinator for the Office for Sustainability.

About the Office for Sustainability: The mission of the University of Arkansas Office for Sustainability is to motivate, facilitate and coordinate responsible practices through partnerships with students, faculty, and staff across all campus departments. The office uses the campus as a living laboratory by overseeing the implementation of the University of Arkansas environmental goals. These programs are part of the UA Resiliency Center, hosted by the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design and supported by UA Facilities Management.

All donated bikes will be given to Pedal It Forward, a local nonprofit that will refurbish your bike and return it to the U of A campus to be gifted to a student in need. Hundreds of students have already benefited.
