'Arte Contemporáneo en la Diáspora II' on Display at the U of A Faulkner Center

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center at the University of Arkansas will host Arte Contemporáneo en la Diáspora II until Friday, Nov. 1.

This eclectic exhibit, made possible by a partnership with Art Ventures NW Arkansas, includes a diverse collection of nine artists from various Latin American countries.

Featured artists include Jassiel Barrientos (Mexico), Ana Sofia Camargo (Panama), Jeffry Cantu (USA/Mexico), Juliana Duque (Colombia), Eloa Jane (Brasil), Octavio Lago (Mexico), Martin Morales (Venezuela), Adriana Patrucco (Peru) and Lourdes Valverde (Mexico).

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Arte Contemporáneo en la Diáspora II will be on display in the Faulkner Center lobbies. Lobbies are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and during special evening events.

 About the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center: The newest performing arts center at the University of Arkansas — a renovation of the old Field House — is named the Jim and Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center, in honor of the couple's major gift to the project. Completed in September 2017, this world-class performance venue is 39,400 square feet, with seating for 587, and a stage that can accommodate as many as 250 performers. The center is the main performance venue for the university's J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences Department of Music and hosts guest musical activities for the university and Northwest Arkansas community.
