Public Invited to Meet Children's Author Michael Shoulders on U of A Campus Nov. 16

The University of Arkansas' Literacy Clinic will host children's author Michael Shoulders on Saturday, Nov. 16, and the public is invited.
The free event will be held in the Graduate Education Building Auditorium at 751 W. Maple St. Shoulders will give a presentation for students in third through sixth grades from 9-10 a.m., then sell and sign books from 10-10:30 a.m.
He'll give a presentation for students in kindergarten through second grades from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Shoulders' books include Say Daddy, T is for Titanic and The Legend of the Christmas Pickle. He has traveled extensively, visiting schools and speaking at conferences across the country. He has worked in education for over 30 years and has written alphabet and counting books as well as books for older children.
The Clinic for Literacy provides students opportunities to improve reading and writing achievement. Teacher candidates serve students through analysis of literacy needs and intervention. Literacy coursework taught at the U of A is immediately applied while working with students. Students receive a boost or extra intervention if they have reading or writing deficits.
The Clinic for Literacy hosts camps in the spring, fall and summer.
