University of Arkansas Team Places First in National Poultry Judging Contest

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Poultry Judging team took first place overall at the 54th National Collegiate Poultry Judging Contest held Nov. 3-5 on the University of Arkansas campus.

In addition to winning first place for the overall team, the University of Arkansas team placed 2nd in Division 1: Egg Production and Quality and first in Division 2: Breeder Selection and Carcass Quality. University of Arkansas team member Katie Bugenhagen received 2nd Overall Individual, 3rd Overall Individual in Division 1: Egg Production and Quality and first Overall Individual in Division 2: Breeder Selection and Carcass Quality. Team member Brant Pritchett received 7th Overall Individual and Jacob Russell received 9th Overall Individual.

Other teams in the contest were from Texas A&M, Louisiana State University, Mississippi State University, North Carolina State University, Penn State University, Ohio State University, Kansas State University, Middle Tennessee State, University of Wisconsin-River Falls and University of North Georgia.
