Binghamton University Professor Amber Simpson to Speak at U of A on Friday, Jan. 31

Amber Simpson, an assistant professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership at Binghamton University State University of New York, will speak at the University of Arkansas on Friday, Jan. 31, in a lecture titled, "Rethinking Education through Making and Tinkering: The Possibilities and the Tensions."

The program will be at noon in room 309 of the Graduate Education Building. The Friday lecture series is hosted by the Department of Education Reform of the University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions.

Simpson is interested in examining maker education in adolescent learning and ways to engage families in the process. She's also interested in exploring

how a person's STEM identity is shaped within various learning experiences including formal, informal and out-of-school experiences.

Please RSVP before 1 p.m. on the Wednesday before the scheduled lecture. The Spring 2020 lecture series and other information can be found on the website of the department.
