Users can update their profile picture under Tools inside Blackboard

Now that the spring semester is underway, instructors and students may notice new features inside Blackboard Learn.

The recent upgrade featured changes to user profiles, the addition of hosted attendance tracking, new originality report layouts and expanded calendar integration.

Blackboard users will need to update their profile photos as previous pictures were removed during the upgrade. View instructions on how to add a profile picture.

Using Collaborate, instructors can now host a session that automatically tracks attendance and allows it to be calculated into a student's grade. Learn more about attendance reports.

Updated layouts for the SafeAssign Originality report improve usability for all devices, including mobile. View the new report layout.

Blackboard Learn's previous calendar feature limited activities and assessments to only Blackboard tools. In this release, content from third-party solutions can be used with a web browser. Learn more about calendar.

Some features are no longer available, including course cartridges and the Social Learning Tools section. The Textbook course content tool can no longer search by ISBN to create new textbook entries. Existing content created using the Textbook tool will continue to provide relevant textbook information.
