Small group training (SGT) spring session starts on Jan. 27 and runs through March 5. Small group training, also known as RazorFitness, offers a unique opportunity to explore a new dimension of fitness by blending the camaraderie of group fitness with the individualized attention of a certified personal trainer. Classes meet twice a week for one hour.

Classes are offered at various times throughout the day in the UREC Train Studio in the HPER Building and are available to all U of A students and UREC members. The cost for students to participate in the entire six-week section is $36, for all other UREC membership types the cost is $48. Registration is now open on urecmembers.uark.edu. Registration closes Jan. 31.

Last semester, UREC introduced Technogym TEAMBEATS to the small group training experience. TEAMBEATS utilizes heart rate training to improve fitness and maximize performance. While heart rate monitoring is optional to participate in the class it is a good option for those looking to track their progress. Compatible heart rate monitors are listed online at urec.uark.edu. Participants may also purchase a Polar OH1-plus at the UREC main office, HPER 225.

Participants may register for SGT in the UREC main office or online at urecmembers.uark.edu. The spring 2020 schedule, registration packet and more information for all session dates and times are listed on urec.uark.edu.

In addition to SGT, UREC offers personal training sessions to students and UREC members. Training sessions are buy three get one free during the month of January. Sessions do not need to be redeemed in January and the sale allows for multiple purchases (i.e. buy six, get two free).
