Undergraduates Invited to Enter Research Poster Competition

Undergraduate students are invited to enter their research in the Research Poster Competition. The contest celebrates the research endeavors of undergraduate students. This competition welcomes both traditional academic research projects and creative projects. Cash prizes will be awarded to all selected to compete in the poster competition.
In the first round of the competition, students will submit a 350-500 word abstract summarizing their projects. Students will enter one of nine academic categories. Abstracts should clearly explain the essentials of the project in language non-specialists can understand. The abstract round will help students learn to concisely explain their research, an essential skill for students to share their research with their community or potential graduate programs and employers. Deadline to submit the abstract through the online form is March 1 at midnight.
Next, in each of the nine categories, judges will select three finalists to compete in the research poster competition. Finalists will present their posters in the Union Ballroom on April 2. Judges will evaluate students' posters and their brief presentations. Judges will assign each presenter in a category a first, second or third place finish, awarding monetary prizes of $100, $75, and $50, respectively. The poster presentations are open to the public, and members of the campus community are encouraged to attend and engage with undergraduate researchers about their projects. More information, including the competition and open presentation times on April 2, will be announced in early March.
The Competition is open to all undergraduate students in all majors and departments. Honors and non-honors students are invited to showcase their research. Students can find more information, including abstract guidelines and the submission form, by visiting Research Poster Competition.
