Collaborative Event to Assist Graduate Students With Research

Collaborative Event to Assist Graduate Students With Research
University of Arkansas

For graduate students just getting started with research, understanding the resources and direction can be overwhelming. To assist with the process, the Office of Graduate Student Support is partnering with University Libraries and Clarivate to offer "Graduate Student Research Days" events Feb. 25 and 26.

Information sessions will focus on the research support available through the University Libraries, how to start your research, where and how you should publish your research, staying current within your field, and evaluating your citation impact.

Students can select from five 45-minute topics scheduled each day from 12 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, or from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26. Space for the individual sessions, schedule in Gearhart Hall, Room 217, is limited to the first 40 graduate students who register by Feb. 24.

Topics each day include:

  • How do the University Libraries support research?
  • Your Next Big Idea – Starting Your Research with Web of Science
  • Where Should I Publish and What's in a Name?
  • Staying Current Within Your Field – Keeping Track of Publications in Your Field
  • Evaluating Your Citation Impact – What Do the Numbers Mean?
