Janet Foxman Hired As Managing Editor of U of A Press

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Janet Foxman has joined the University of Arkansas Press as managing editor. In her role, Foxman will oversee editorial operations, including manuscript development and editing, and will work closely with other press managers to establish book schedules while maintaining a smooth workflow.

Before moving to Fayetteville, Foxman served as a senior production editor at Oxford University Press. Previously assistant editor for a scholarly journal and a poetry editor for a literary journal, she is also the author of a collection of poetry, Disposable Camera, published by the University of Chicago Press.

“With a small staff, it’s essential that each and every employee brings as much versatility and knowledge as possible,” Mike Bieker, director of the press said. “Janet comes to us with the production, editorial, writing, and management experience that the press looks for when searching for talented individuals needed to publish excellent books.”

Foxman began her new employment on Feb. 1.
