Lauren Walters is the fourth U of A Bumpers College student to be selected for a WIT scholarship in the last four years.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Lauren Walters, a U of A apparel merchandising and product development major, has been selected to receive a Women in Toys Foundation Inc. scholarship for 2020.

Walters is a senior from North Little Rock. Her scholarship is for $2,500.

She attended the annual WIT Gala in New York City in February and was recognized as a scholarship recipient.

This is the fourth time in four years a U of A apparel student has been selected. India Callahan received a WIT scholarship in 2017, Parker Milner in 2018 and Jessie Daspit in 2019.

The AMPD program is part of the School of Human Environmental Sciences in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

The WIT event at Pier 60 includes more than 800 guests. The 16th Annual Wonder Women Awards recognizes women for achievements in toys, licensing and entertainment.

The WIT Foundation honors achievements of women studying in fields of toy design, engineering, entrepreneurship and business with the purpose of highlighting students in toy-related careers.
