Ann Bordelon Named to Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Post

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Ann Bordelon, a seasoned finance executive with experience ranging from the world's largest company to regional entrepreneurial ventures, has been appointed as vice chancellor for finance and administration at the University of Arkansas, effective July 1, 2020. 

"Ann's impressive career has given her the background, the leadership experience and financial acumen, to advance our largest division on campus," said Chancellor Joseph E. Steinmetz. "I'm looking forward to working with Ann as we seek to become a more nimble and flexible institution and am confident in her ability to help realize our goals and vision for the future."

Units reporting to the vice chancellor for finance and administration include facilities management, human resources, information technology services, business affairs, financial affairs and the police department. The vice chancellor is a member of the University Executive Committee reporting directly to the chancellor.

A native of Arkansas, Bordelon has spent the majority of her career with Walmart and Ernst & Young. During her nearly 13-year tenure at Walmart, Bordelon served in various executive finance roles including chief financial officer of Sam's Club, chief financial officer of Walmart Asia, and global chief audit executive.

Following her retirement from Walmart, Bordelon worked with a start-up company in the medical diagnostic space and then as the chief financial officer of Mitchell Communications. She also serves on the board of America's Car-Mart and PHD Group Holdings LLC.

Professionally, Bordelon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Bordelon earned a B.S.B.A. in accounting and information systems from the University of Arkansas and is a certified public accountant.

She has been affiliated with many volunteer organizations over the years including the Women's Leadership Board at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Arkansas Business Hall of Fame, and the Delta Gamma Foundation.  Locally, she has served most recently as a founding board member of Thaden School in Bentonville.
