Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center Announces Live Online Events

The Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center will host two live, online events during the week of March 30.

The first event will begin at noon Wednesday, April 1, and will feature a conversation with Carrie Beam, teaching assistant professor in the M.S. in Operations Management program in the Department of Industrial Engineering. The focus of this conversation will be her timely faculty help video, "Moving Online in a Weekend: Distance Education in the Nick of Time."

This video is posted on YouTube or it can be accessed through the TFSC Blackboard Online Community. Participants are strongly encouraged to watch the video prior to joining the conversation.

The second event, TIPS for Remote Teaching, will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. During this event, faculty will have the opportunity to discuss best practices in online teaching with Kathryn Zawisza, director of academic technology and innovation for IT Services, and Shelly Walters, associate director of instructional design and support services with Global Campus. If you are looking for practical help with your online courses, you don't want to miss this event!

To participate in either (or both!) of these live events, simply go to the TFSC Online Community in Blackboard (learn.uark.edu), click on the "Virtual Meeting" link, and select the appropriate event. If you have already signed up to be a part of this online community, "Wally Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center" will show up as a link under "Non-Credit Courses" when you log into Blackboard. If you are not currently a member of this community, we would love to have you! Just email Lori Libbert at TFSC@uark.edu and ask her to add you.

Finally, if want to make sure you don't miss anything, join in about 10-15 minutes prior to the official start time and enjoy visiting with the other early birds!
