Students that live at school but off-campus are encouraged to participate in the 2020 Census.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Every 10 years, the U.S. Census is tallied across the country, helping to determine federal funding for services like safety, mental health and Pell grants. Students are asked to participate to ensure funding for these important services in the university community.

Students who normally live off-campus

Students who normally live off-campus during the academic year should use that address when reporting your information — even if you are temporarily living elsewhere with family or friends due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Invitations to respond to the census were mailed recently, giving you the option to complete the census online, by phone or by mail. However, if you aren't around to receive mail, you can still respond by going online at 2020census.gov. Please remember to provide the address where you normally live during the school year.

Here's a helpful video summarizing "What College Students Need to Know to be Counted in the Right Place" during the 2020 Census.

Students who normally live on-campus

Students who normally live on-campus in university-managed housing will be counted automatically by the university. There's nothing more required.

"We thank our students in advance for taking part and helping the university community," said Melissa Rom, dean of students and senior associate vice chancellor for student affairs.
