Students from 12 Areas in Bumpers College Named 2020-21 College Ambassadors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A select group of students has been chosen to serve as ambassadors of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences for 2020-21.

Following an application and interview process, 12 students have been selected from different areas in the college to work both on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, to assist at Dean's Office events, serve as representatives of the college, assist in other recruiting functions, and share the philosophy and benefits of enrollment in the college to prospective students, parents and alumni.

The group includes Stephanie Bennett, lead ambassador, poultry science; Logan Moss, agricultural education, communications and technology; Caleb Swears, agricultural economics and agribusiness; Katie Long, animal science; Evan Buckner, crop, soil and environmental sciences; Kaitlyn Hope, food science; Golda Nunneley, School of Human Environmental Sciences; Sydney Delossantos, horticulture; Laykyn Rainbolt, honors program, animal science; Jesus Lopez, diversity and inclusion, apparel merchandising and product development; and Jaylon Carothers, out-of-state student representative, animal science.

The ambassadors are supervised by Dausen Duncan, coordinator of undergraduate student recruitment, and Lucas Simmons, senior advisor and student experience coordinator.

"We've put together a great group for next year and I'm looking forward to leading them and getting them engaged in interacting with current and prospective students," said Duncan. "In addition to departmental ambassadors, we've added an ambassador to represent student groups in areas of diversity and inclusion, from out of state and from our honors program. This will help us better connect with students and future students in those areas. We're looking forward to building on to and adding to our list of projects and events that help spread the word about Bumpers College and our great programs."
