Adopt a Prof faculty and University Housing staff attend a holiday event sponsored by Housing.

University Housing seeks faculty willing to be a part of the Adopt A Prof program.

Participants will be partnered with residence hall staff to engage with students living in a residential community.

As an honorary member of the residential community, faculty interact with residents and staff on an informal but intentional level, while being fully integrated into the programming aspects of the residence hall.

This type of interaction connects the academic pursuits of our students with their lives outside of the classroom. Whether through a floor movie and discussion night, sponsored study break or competing in events such as "Are you Smarter Than a Professor," faculty have the opportunity to serve as mentors and share their own topical perspective and life experiences with residents.

Faculty are asked to participate in two events per semester based on availability. They are also asked to attend one hall staff meeting and at least one individual meeting with the coordinator for residence education (CRE) from the assigned hall per semester.

Faculty are invited to participate in social events throughout the academic year, including one meet-and-greet luncheon and an end-of-the-year appreciation reception where they will receive a certificate of recognition from University Housing for their collaboration and support.

If interested in serving as an Adopt A Prof, please complete the form attached in the link below by Monday, May 18. You will receive more information about the program via email.
