Equity and COVID-19 Web Discussion Slated for May 21

The IDEALS Institute at the University of Arkansas, in partnership with the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation, will host an online lunchtime forum at noon May 21 regarding equity and COVID-19.

The forum, titled "Equity in Action: Envisioning a Post-COVID Arkansas," will focus on systemic disparities that negatively impact vulnerable communities, both in Arkansas and across the country. Community leaders will share their perspectives on the crisis and how the state can move forward after COVID-19 to ensure no one is left behind.

Panelists are:

  • Sherece West Scantlebury, chief executive officer of the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation
  • Rich Huddleston, executive director of Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families
  • Magaly Licolli, executive director of Venceremos
  • Karama Neal, president of Southern Bancorp Community Partners

Elecia Smith, executive director of the IDEALS Institute, will host the discussion.
