Air Force ROTC Held First Virtual Commissioning Ceremony Spring 2020

On May 29, the United States Air Force ROTC, Detachment 030, held its first virtual commissioning ceremony for its newest second lieutenants: Colin Brewster, Scott Deal, Wade Gerlick, Rachel Pohl, Tate Tanner, and Shannon Wilson. Lt. Col. Brian Capps delivered remarks honoring the new commissionees.

Colin Brewster, a graduate of the College of Engineering, acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and will transition into pilot candidacy at his first duty station.

Scott Deal, a criminal justice major, acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree and will transition into the role of Logistics Readiness Officer at his first duty station.

Wade Gerlick, a mathematics major, acquired a Bachelor of Science degree and will enter into pilot candidacy at his first duty station.

Rachel Pohl, an honors civil engineering major and Cum Laude graduate, acquired a Bachelor of Science degree and will transition into an Acquisitions role at her first duty station.

Tate Tanner, a criminal justice major, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and will enter into remotely piloted aircraft pilot candidacy at his first duty station.

Shannon Wilson, an international and global studies major, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and will transition into pilot candidacy at her first duty station.

The Air Force ROTC, Detachment 030 Thunderhawgs, is very proud of its graduates, who are embarking upon their careers as officers in the United States Air Force.
