Virtual Suzuki Music Camp Ready for Summer Students
The Suzuki Music School of Arkansas is accepting students ages 5-13 for their 2020 summer music camps. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this year's camps will be held online through Zoom. Lessons will be July 13-17 and are $100 for students who are already enrolled in summer SMSA lessons, $115 for those who are not enrolled.
There are four different SMSA groups for parents and children to enjoy:

Snap, Clap, Tap, and Stamp: A Body Percussion Class — Sally Lewis, Teaching Artist. Enjoy our body percussion class which will start the day at camp! Get moving with rhythmic exercises and coordinated body tapping to music. Body percussion involves coordinated movements, rhythmic patterns and some simple, coordinated dance steps.

Be creative! Music Plus Performing Arts Class — Miho Oda Sakon, Teaching Artist. Close your eyes and listen to music. What do you see? What do you feel in your heart? In this class, we will listen and watch performances of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. You will learn how the story has been changed by different choreographers. You can also use your imagination to create a story beyond the original!

Carnival of the Animals — Sally Lewis, Teaching Artist. Come enter the wondrous world of animals at the zoo in Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens! We will explore the various animals and the sounds various instruments make to portray these animals. You will be asked to create a musical sound or story and a puppet of the animal of your choice. You will share your creations with other members of the class at the final presentation. You do not need to play a musical instrument to participate in this class!

Music Theory Basics — Nastassja Riley, Teaching Artist. Explore the world of notated music! In this interactive class you will learn the bass and treble clef, music values, time signatures and dynamics.
