The U of A Enactus team received multiple awards and nominations at the Enactus National Exposition this May.

"UA Enactus was awarded the Project Management Excellence Award in recognition of both our empathy-centered approach to project management and our implementation of design thinking methodology in all of our projects," said Adam Franky, graduate director of Enactus.

U of A Enactus presented on their Gasoline Run-Off Project, which aims to eliminate gasoline runoff in the United States. Students designed and 3D printed a gasoline pump nozzle attachment that prevents fuel pumps from spilling gasoline onto the ground and polluting our soil, water and air.

Students presented their project in the Early Stage Competition and placed second in their league. Watch the U of A Enactus' 7-minute presentation.

Four U of A Enactus students were nominated for national titles in exemplary leadership. Those nominations included:

  • Executive Leader of the Year — Lara Wyatt, journalism sophomore
  • Membership Leader of the Year — Reese Robinette, management junior
  • Marketing Leader of the Year — Mclain Stalker, marketing junior
  • Project Leader of the Year — Sai Sirgineedi, engineering sophomore

Reese Robinette, former director of recruitment and retention, was awarded Membership Leader of the Year.

Now president of Enactus, Robinette said he aims to create an identity for the team on campus through projects that impact the Northwest Arkansas community.

"We want to make more projects that are relevant to today's issues and make sure that we are taking care of home," Robinette said. "We can't impact the outside world until we impact our own community."

Students of all colleges and majors at the University of Arkansas are welcome in Enactus, said Vincente Hernandez, current director of recruitment and retention.

"This year we hope to see a diversity of majors on our team,'' Hernandez said. "It's not just about business opportunities, it's about life experience. Enactus can align with your goals."
