Final Day of Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing Clinic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Department of Health and Pat Walker Health Center will be conducting a third drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic on Thursday, Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Testing is free and no appointment is needed. The clinic will be conducted in the parking lot across from Baum-Walker Stadium at the corner of South Razorback Road and West 15th Street. 

The testing is available for symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals - anyone can be tested with valid university identification.

"Unfortunately, the growing number of university-affiliated cases suggests too many people still aren't taking the virus seriously by taking the necessary precautions," Chancellor Joe Steinmetz said in a recent letter to campus. "We are in a public health emergency that requires we look out for each other. And it's imperative that we act accordingly: Wear face coverings. Wash hands. Physically distance yourself from others. Avoid crowds. And if you think you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, you need to quarantine and get tested ASAP."

This will be the final testing clinic offered this week and is an effort to help screen large groups of students, faculty and/or staff that are experiencing symptoms or for anyone who may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Students should bring valid student ID cards. Mask requirements will be in effect except for the few seconds needed to conduct each test. 

Even though the ADH is providing the testing at no cost, students should still bring their insurance information with them if they have it.

If you have already been tested at this location, you will be notified soon as testing results are being confirmed as quickly as possible.

While individuals being tested at this on-campus clinic do not need to self-report results to the university, those are tested off campus and receive a positive result, must fill out a self-report form and self-isolate.

COVID-19 testing is also available five days a week for U of A students, faculty and staff through the Pat Walker Health Center at the Garland Garage Monday through Friday, but is by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 479-575-4451, option 1.
