Urgent Need for Volunteers to Deliver Meals to Quarantined Students

This volunteer opportunity allows students to work under a partnership between Razorback Food Recovery, University Housing and Chartwells to deliver meals to students under quarantine or isolation orders on campus. This is a meaningful and impactful way to serve the campus community during these unprecedented times. Any students or staff are welcome to participate, but we are actively seeking students who live on campus to participate in 2-3 delivery shifts a week!

There will be two shifts each day starting at both Fulbright and Pomfret Dining Halls, Monday through Friday: Lunch delivery (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and dinner delivery (5-7 p.m.). Volunteers will go to either Fulbright Dining Hall or Pomfret Dining Hall to wash up, get their PPE, and load up a wagon with deliveries for various residence halls.

Applicants will be contacted shortly after submitting their application and given access to online training to complete before they may begin participating.

Face shields, gloves, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer will be provided to increase volunteer safety. Due to COVID-19, our volunteers will be expected to follow the guidelines set by the CDC both in and out of our campus kitchens in order to protect themselves, the kitchen staff, and our community partners. Volunteers will also have their temperature taken at the beginning of each Volunteer shift and will be expected to maintain safe social distancing (at least 6 feet) from staff and fellow volunteers and to wear the provided PPE (mask and gloves) while in the dining halls, dorms and elsewhere on campus during their shift.
