Arkansas Law Review Announces New Editorial Board, Members, Staff Editors

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Law Review has announced its editorial board, members and staff editors for the 2020-21 academic year. The flagship journal is published quarterly by students at the University of Arkansas School of Law and serves the Arkansas legal community and beyond by publishing scholarship of state, national and international importance.

"It is an honor to have been selected for the Arkansas Law Review editorial board," said Nick Bell, editor-in-chief. "While this year will present many unique challenges, it will also give us opportunities to innovate and improve."

Usually, the law school and law review host an annual Arkansas Law Review Symposium. The event explores an emerging area of the law from several unique perspectives. Guest scholars from institutions around the nation are invited to participate in panel discussions, which later are memorialized in the law review's symposium issue. The 2020-21 symposium has been cancelled due to public health concerns resulting from COVID-19.

"Unfortunately, our editorial board will not be able to continue the tradition of hosting a symposium," Bell said. "We are optimistic that the law review will be able to host a symposium during the 2021-22 academic year and view this year as an opportunity to lay the foundation for a successful return next year."

The law review's first issue was published in the fall semester of the 1946-47 academic year. Today, it is an established part of the legal community. Lawyers and courts throughout the nation, including the United States Supreme Court, have cited and relied on the journal. Its articles and student writings have been quoted in books and learned journals throughout the world.
